Building a gable-roof house: proven and economical
The gable roof is, for good reason, the most common roof form in Germany: it sheds rain and snow safely, is low-maintenance and, with its convertible attic, creates especially affordable living space. Ground floor and attic together form a compact, well-insulated volume – little exterior surface relative to living space means low running costs. This is exactly what makes this house type the value-for-money champion among single-family homes.

The ground floor is where shared life happens – an open-plan kitchen facing the garden, plus a study, a guest WC and building services. The attic offers the more private rooms, whose sloping ceilings create a spatial character no flat roof knows: a child’s room under the slope feels different from a cube. Through dormers and generous gable windows we bring light and standing height into the roof.

What does a gable-roof house cost as a prefab home?
The price depends on living space, specification and plot. The gable roof is the most economical roof form: proven, rainproof and with a convertible attic that creates affordable living space. You receive your binding fixed-price offer with a 12-month price guarantee after the initial consultation; the plot and ancillary construction costs are additional.
How much living space does the attic provide?
At a roof pitch of 35 to 45 degrees, the attic is fully usable. A knee wall of about 1.20 to 1.50 metres gains you additional storage space on the eaves sides; dormers or a cross-gable create further standing height and light. We plan the fit-out so that no area is lost to the slope.
Does a gable-roof house fit into every building area?
